Who we are

The Hive Nextdoor is a new local honey business, and we're still getting set up. We'll add our full company details here once we're registered. We're responsible for (the "controller" of) the personal data you give us through this website, and you can reach us any time at hello@thehivenextdoor.co.uk.

What we collect

• Your name, email address and postcode.
• Whether you're registering as a honey buyer or a beekeeper, and the optional answers you give (the honey you're after, how many hives you keep, and so on).
• If you arrived by scanning a jar, the jar's batch code.

Why we use it

We use your details to tell you when The Hive Nextdoor launches near you and to match buyers with beekeepers in the same area. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing us or using the unsubscribe link in any email.

Who we share it with

We never sell your data. We use a few trusted services to run the site, and they only process your data on our instructions:

• Supabase, which stores your registration in its London data centre.
• Microsoft 365, which we use for our email.
• Vercel, which hosts the website. Some of its servers are outside the UK, and transfers are protected by the safeguards UK data protection law requires.

How long we keep it

Until you ask us to delete it, or 24 months after we last contacted you, whichever comes first.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or object to how we use it, by emailing hello@thehivenextdoor.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
